Inge is a painter as well and a big fan of techno music which gets her into competition mode.
74 years old multi-sportsman Gerhard Müller at the training ground in Hannberg.
Gerhard completed more than 1600 handball matches, 1000 football matches and 400 triathlons.
Dieter Wolf, 83, exercising at his training ground in Dormagen.
Dieter is 40 times world champion in the discipline of stone putting and had been working as a secret agent for the German Military Counter Intelligence (MAD).
For more than 25 years now Dieter has been trying to find out what happened to his missing son Matthias. In 1994 he disappeared on a trip through Cambodia. Dieter is convinced that his son was killed by Khmer Rouge rebels.
94 years old Johanna Quaas at the gym in Halle.
Johanna is the oldest competitive gymnast of the world and an icon of her discipline.
Bodybuilder Willi Neubauer, 73, in his home studio in Krefeld.
Willi, who even took the competition stage besides Arnold Schwarzenegger some 50 years ago, is one of the world‘s most successful bodybuilders in his age group.
His other passion besides bodybuilding: Floriculture. For more than 50 years he cultivated his garden plot in Krefeld. His favourite flower is the chrysanthemum.
90 years old runner Herbert E. Müller at the training ground in Düsseldorf.
Herbert holds dozens of German, European and world records in several running disciplines.
Germany’s oldest ski jumpers Wolfgang Schramm, 73, and Walter Gräf, 75, at the jumping hill in Bad Tabarz.
79 years old Ingrid Holzknecht from Rellingen at the training ground. In her age class Ingrid is multiple world champion in different throwing disciplines, including javelin and discus.
In August 2016, as every summer, Ingrid spent her holidays at Austria‘s biggest mountain Großglockner. During a short hike alone - her husband was waiting for her at a mountain inn - she somehow lost her way and fell into a gorge, 150 meters deep.
Laying in the pouring rain for six hours, Ingrid was finally found by the mountain rescue service. She had countless bone fractures, had to be reanimated multiple times and eventually went into a coma.
But after one week Ingrid got out of it. And after seven months of painful rehabilitation, she stood on the training ground again, practising for upcoming competitions. „Sport saved my life“, Ingrid says.
